About the role: The Practice Manager of Orthopaedics is responsible for managing the operations of the Orthopaedic Clinic and providing effective leadership to a large group of multi-skilled staff, whilst playing a pivotal role in developing and managing operational plans that support the strategic direction and future growth of the orthopaedic division. The role is also required to collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and implement business improvement practices to achieve improved patient care and employee experiences and increase efficiencies.

Key responsibilities: Manage all business operations, including but not limited to strategic planning, human resources, IT, WHandS, insurance, and financial reporting. Lead and engage a team committed to offering high levels of service and support within a busy working environment that promotes the best employee and patient care and experience. Drive a performance culture through goal setting, coaching and monitoring performance, and the development of direct reports and the wider team. Lead a range of complex business improvement initiatives and projects in the delivery of strategic plan objectives, ensuring effective partnering relationships are maintained with a broad range of stakeholders from idea to delivery.

Build and maintain effective partnering relationships to ensure a high level of communication with healthcare professionals, hospital employees, and other sports teams. Oversee the effective operation of the Clinical Practice Management System for the Orthopaedic Clinic and ensure the integrity of patient data in accordance with all applicable legislation and regulations. Implement practice policy and procedures and update regularly to reflect current practice systems and processes.

Organize board meetings and other meetings as required.

Manage special projects as requested.

We are looking for someone with tertiary qualifications in practice management, business management, or human resources. Managed a medium-sized team. A collaborative and flexible style with a solid commitment to leadership, building teamwork, and patient care. High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels. Proven ability to implement new procedures and processes, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Demonstrated ability to undertake several projects concurrently, maintain work quality, and be flexible and adaptable in approach to multiple requests. Knowledge of employment lifecycle processes and documentation.

Personal Characteristics: Friendly, mature, pragmatic, and down-to-earth approach and shows leadership qualities. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately both verbally and in writing to a range of people. Ability to manage sensitive information in a private and confidential manner. Ability to establish good working relationships and work effectively within a team.
