LIWA Aquatics, the peak industry body for aquatic recreation facility managers in Western Australia, is seeking a dynamic leader to drive our mission forward. As the Executive Officer, you will report directly to the board and play a key role in providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational management to support our members and industry initiatives.
About Us: LIWA Aquatics (Leisure Institute of Western Australia Aquatics) is the peak industry body representing aquatic recreation facility managers across Western Australia. With a strong focus on industry leadership, professional development, and safety standards, LIWA Aquatics plays a crucial role in supporting the management and operation of aquatic facilities nationwide. Our mission is to enhance the aquatic industry through advocacy, training, and collaboration, ensuring high-quality, safe, and sustainable aquatic recreation for communities across WA. Through networking, accreditation programs, and industry partnerships, we provide essential resources and support for aquatic professionals.
The Position: As the Executive Officer, you will work closely with the LIWA board to develop and implement strategic plans that drive the organization’s mission and long-term goals. Your leadership will ensure LIWA continues to provide value to its members and remains a key advocate for the aquatic recreation industry in Western Australia. Building and maintaining strong relationships with members, stakeholders, and industry partners will be a core part of your role. You will act as the public face of LIWA, representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote collaboration and industry best practices.
You will oversee the planning and successful delivery of LIWA’s key events, including conferences, workshops, and training sessions, ensuring they provide high-quality professional development opportunities for members. Additionally, you will drive initiatives that enhance member training, certification programs, and knowledge-sharing platforms. A key focus of this role is identifying and responding to emerging industry trends. You will develop initiatives that address critical areas such as sustainability, inclusivity, and community well-being, ensuring LIWA remains at the forefront of innovation and industry leadership.
About You: You are a passionate and experienced leader with a strong background in management, ideally within the aquatic recreation industry or a related field. Your leadership style is collaborative and inclusive, fostering a positive culture built on diversity, equity, and inclusion. You have a proven track record of driving organizational growth and delivering results, with the ability to lead change effectively. Your deep understanding of the aquatic recreation landscape in Western Australia enables you to navigate industry challenges and opportunities with confidence. As a skilled communicator and relationship builder, you excel in stakeholder engagement and advocacy. Your sound financial acumen allows you to manage budgets and resources efficiently while identifying new revenue opportunities to support the organization’s sustainability.
