Our dedicated Psychological and Counselling Service (PACS) team supports students at a range of levels, from helping to settle into university life, to providing our student community with counselling, resources and advice during crises and other stressful situations.
Your new role: In this role, you will provide welfare assistance to our current students[AC1] from a range of diverse backgrounds. You will assess their needs and use the appropriate referrals for specialist services and community resources. You will work effectively and collaboratively with our Psychologists, Counsellors, Student Wellbeing Advisors, and external agencies to advocate for a positive and healthy environment for our students with complex needs. This is a full-time role; however, for the right candidate and circumstances, we are open to part-time job-sharing arrangements.
We are looking for someone with Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Community/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent. Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience in risk assessment, crisis management, and case management in a health setting. Knowledge of the referral mechanisms and community resources. Ability to effectively engage and consult with a wide range of professionals, services, and organisations.
Role Requirements: As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
