Role Summary: The WHS Manager will be responsible to create and manage detailed plans for protecting against potential hazards as well as how best to react to incidents, hazards and emergencies that can arise. The successful candidate will implement, monitor, and improve safety standards across all business units, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe manner.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies and procedures. Lead the WHS Management System, conduct quarterly WHS consultation meetings and manage workers compensation and personal injury matters. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Investigate incidents and accidents and prepare detailed reports. Provide safety training and induction programs for employees and contractors. Ensure that processes are compliant. Ensure safety equipment and machinery is in good working condition. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure adherence to legal requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Promote a safety-first culture within the company.
Qualifications and Experience: 8 + years experience within a similar role is essential. Qualifications in WHS and Rehabilitation Provider Programs. In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and work independently to drive health and safety across the business. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to different sites (Occasional interstate travel).
