A high-profile manufacturer providing custom sheet metal fabrication and precision CNC machining solutions to various industries for over 35 years has a vacancy for qualified and experienced industrial painters to join their team in a modern state-of-the-art paint shop. The applicant should have experience in surface preparation, spray painting, and applying protective coatings to metal & plastic components and structures. Experience in powder coating is an advantage.

Qualifications Ideal applicants will have a Trade Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or equivalent Qualification. 3 years of previous and recent industrial painting & blasting experience. Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or specifications. Previous experience in industrial painting or a similar role. Understanding of various painting techniques, coatings, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities/Skills: review painting specifications and comply with the required standards, mix and match paints and coatings according to specifications, clean and prepare surfaces to specifications (sanding, masking, etc.), ability to apply protective coatings using spray guns as per required specifications, apply sealants and silicone to specifications where required, inspect surfaces for defects and ensure quality even finish, maintain and record painting thickness, operate and maintain painting equipment safely.

Key Attributes: ability to work as part of a team and understand the importance of teamwork, good communication skills, strong attention to detail, take pride in their work, follow workplace OH&S regulations, proper use of PPE and ventilation, physically fit to be able to lift workpieces during their work, reliable, self-motivated, clean police record, ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen (if required).
