Responsibilities: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Mountain driving expertise. Professionalism in customer service. Drive lighter, special-purpose trucks. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
