Senior Supervisor. Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning, and Public Works. Charleville, Western QLD. Foreperson/Supervisors (Construction). Full-time. $100,730 - $105,478 per annum. QBuild is a commercialized business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been the Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations, and correctional and health facilities.

About the role: You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional administrative support.

Duties and skills involved: Planning and delivering projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff, and subcontractors and the effective management of resources such as plant and equipment, depots, and motor vehicles. Monitoring and reviewing project standards using effective work order management techniques that monitor and report to stakeholders on the status and quality of service, project delivery, and expenditure, and achieve compliance with industry best practices and agreed-upon cost and time parameters. Managing regional resources to effectively deliver construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and practices.

Providing a high level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild. Provide operational contract supervisory services in respect to construction and engineering contracts on major and complex projects. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients through effective and regular communication, sound negotiation, and the achievement of program outcomes that meet client expectations. Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, and workplace health and safety.

Promoting QBuild products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums and identifying opportunities for new business services based on emerging trends in asset management. Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.

Required Skills and Experience: Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card.

While not mandatory, a construction industry-related trade qualification is highly desirable.
