About us: From its beginnings as a reliable machinery repair company, PWE Quarry Services has evolved into a significant service provider to the extractive industry in Victoria. The further development of the business in transitioning from plant dry hire to operating units in the extractive and civil industries was a natural progression. PWE Quarry Services are looking for an experienced casual quarry operator to join the team based in the southeastern suburbs of Victoria. The role is located across Victoria, with some jobs requiring overnight stays.
Overview of the role: Operating heavy machinery for PWE job sites in a safe and responsible manner. Working in line with site and PWE documentation while communicating with the site supervisor and other operators.
Duties include but are not limited to liaising as required with clients, subcontractors, managers, and other persons. Demonstrate discipline in following safety processes. Ensure your own safety and the safety of all personnel and equipment. Ensure all work activities have been carried out to standards expected. Ensure specific duties are carried out and abide by all site rules. Take ownership of individual areas of responsibility. Accept all continuous improvement concepts in the workplace. Complete documentation of work carried out, hours of work, hazards, and incident or injury management and reporting. Complete time sheets, including cost codes/job numbers and allowances
Operate equipment at a skilled, safe, and effective level.
To be successful in this role, you will need the ability to carry out work as instructed by the leading hand. Plant Operator Tickets / Competencies. Hold a current Construction Induction White Card (or equivalent). Good communication skills. Current driving license. A minimum of 1 year of experience in mobile plant operations is preferred. Enthusiastic team member. Adaptability. Use of initiative, a proactive and organized approach to work. Teamwork.
