How will I help? As an Indigenous Business Manager, you are critical to achieving Westpac’s strategy of financial inclusion and well-being for Indigenous customers. You’ll maintain lasting partnerships with 3rd-party referrers and create strong relationships with new Indigenous business customers by acting as a trusted advisor.

Ensure seamless onboarding for new customers, delivering exceptional service and managing the first 100 days effectively. Support the retention of new Indigenous business customers. Represent the Westpac Indigenous Banking brand in the external market and be advocates for our outstanding service promise, with the aim of growing future Indigenous business and referrals. Work closely across all our business segments, providing new-to-bank clients with a warm handover to the appropriate relationship manager/banker. Have the expertise to meet both the business and personal needs of our prospective and new-to-bank customers, and collaborate with internal business partners (relationship managers, transactional business managers, and equipment finance managers) to deliver specialized solutions as required.

Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure the effective management and completion of new lending submissions for new-to-bank clients. Keep abreast of economic trends and the Indigenous market, leveraging this insight to represent Westpac as an expert in the Indigenous Banking segment.

What do I need? Proven experience in business banking or a related field, with a focus on stakeholder management and customer engagement. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients and partners. In-depth understanding of the Indigenous market and its unique business needs. Experience in financial analysis, credit risk, and business development. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications and credit risk knowledge preferred. This role is based in NSW; candidates must be based in NSW.
