The Role: We’re looking for an experienced and energetic restaurant manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Urban Espresso Lounge. As the manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience for both our customers and staff. You’ll manage a team, maintain a high standard of service, and work closely with ownership to continue building a positive and profitable business.

This role can be casual or full-time, depending on the candidate's availability and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Staff Management: Lead and inspire a small but passionate team of baristas and front-of-house staff. Ensure staff are trained and uphold our high service standards. Handle staff scheduling and manage day-to-day staffing requirements. Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating work environment.

Operations & Customer Service: Oversee all front-of-house operations to ensure a smooth, customer-focused experience. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food presentation, and service. Deal with customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

Financial Management: assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management. Monitor daily sales and costs, ensuring efficient operation within budget. Handle cash reconciliation and daily reporting to ownership.

Marketing & Community Engagement: Help promote the café through local events, social media, and community outreach. Engage with our regular customers to maintain strong relationships and customer loyalty.

Collaboration with Ownership: Work closely with the business owner to help drive long-term growth.

Contribute to menu planning, specials, and seasonal offerings. Offer input into the development of strategies for improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Desired Skills & Experience: Preferred but not essential experience in a previous managerial role within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. Knowledge of food safety and health regulations. A passion for coffee, food, and creating a positive customer experience. Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends. We do not open on public holidays.

Working Hours: Start times: 5:00 AM. Shift times: From 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Schedule: Four days on, three days off (includes weekend work).
