Management Accountant, McPhails. Wangaratta, Yarra Valley & High Country VIC. Management Accounting & Budgeting (Accounting). Full time. $85,000–$125,000 per year. Highly desirable role in a regional market. This role only requires 4 days in the office. (Located in Regional Victoria, Wangaratta). McPhails Group is a privately owned furniture retailer created to provide customers with a new standard of service and shopping experience. We approach each sale as though it were our own and deliver to a standard that surpasses industry expectations.

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the production financial reports across the group, which allow our teams to make sound decisions based on high-quality data. You will assist in the preparation of monthly management reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) for both internal and external stakeholders.

The role is also responsible for the management of cash flow across the furniture business and the consolidated position for the group. You will be responsible for timely entry of accounts payable invoices into Xero and preparation of weekly supplier payment runs. You will be a proactive person looking to be challenged and able to manage multiple priorities.

What you’ll do: Preparation of monthly management reports incorporating key KPI's, including variance analysis. End-to-end management of the Accounts Payable function, including entering supplier invoices into Xero and proactive cash flow management. Month-end closing processes. Support the preparation of bank reporting packs. Monthly departmental reporting and analysis. Assistance with the preparation of annual budgets. Administration of General Ledger and Fixed Asset Register. Balance sheet reconciliation and analysis. Co-ordinate and ensure timely lodgement of BAS and tax returns. Internal audit of internal accounting policies and practices. Ensure accurate reporting in financial systems. Proactively work with the team to resolve queries, providing exceptional service to internal customers. Support the group through continuous improvement of systems and processes.

What you’ll bring: tertiary qualification in accounting or equivalent. CPA or CA qualification is desirable. Xero experience desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A skilled communicator—able to communicate complex issues with clarity and ease. Must reside in and hold full working rights in Australia. A focus on teamwork. Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
