Medical Receptionist. Dr. Tamer Mettyas. Brisbane QLD. Medical Administration (Healthcare & Medical). Casual/Vacation. $32–$38 per hour. This position is for a medical receptionist (casual with the possibility of becoming permanent) to work in Dr. Tamer Mettyas' practice. The role offers a friendly & enjoyable work environment. Dr. Mettyas is an upper-limb Orthopaedic surgeon who values and appreciates the role his reception staff play in his practice.

About the Role: The position offers work on weekdays (Monday to Friday), with the opportunity to work from home. Onsite days are mainly clinic days in the rooms at Brisbane Private Hospital, North West Private Hospital, and occasionally Greenslopes Private Hospital.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): greeting patients and answering the phone promptly and courteously. Managing the diary and appointment bookings. Managing patient billing and receipting for consultations. Managing surgery bookings and billings in conjunction with the practice manager. Involvement in the daily running of the rooms and reporting directly to the practice. Manager/reception coordinator. Email correspondence. Start: From February 2024. Above award salary. Remuneration will be based on experience, and there is the opportunity for an increase in line with competency.

Skills and experience The following are required for the position: Strong work ethic and good understanding of patient confidentiality. A desire to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills. Excellent customer service and ability to prioritise tasks. Experience using Genie or Gentu software. Previous experience (at least 12 months) working as a Medical Receptionist (preferably within a private specialist practice). Computer skills across Microsoft office. A sound knowledge of Medicare, DVA, Work Cover and Private Health Fund billing.
