The Department of Education’s Training & Careers team provides a range of pathways and training services to urban and remote schools in the Central Australia and Barkly regions. This includes vocational education and training (VET) programs, structured vocational work placement support, post-school pathway advice, and brokering industry partnerships.
The administration coordinator provides essential administration support to schools, students, and families. This is a customer-focused role that supports schools and young people to engage with Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs in the Central region, increasing uptake of VET-related activities, grants, and programs through practical administrative assistance, including planning, promotion, logistics, and reporting.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with diverse people, enjoys working across multiple tasks, and is hands-on to support school staff.
Key duties will include the processing of procurement, travel, and financial transactions. Assisting schools to compliantly complete the required student documentation for their students to take part in VET programs. Provision of logistical support to schools, students, and trainers to ensure successful VET program delivery. If you have good attention to detail, are self-motivated, and enjoy using a variety of systems to achieve outcomes, this role will be perfect for you.
This position requires a current NT Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card), a current national police check, and a ‘C’ class or above driver license or the ability to obtain one. This position may require some travel by 4WD or light aircraft to remote communities and may include some overnight stays.
