An opportunity exists for a SPRAY RIG OPERATOR who is enthusiastic about farming, keen to develop their skills, work with a progressive team, and progress their career in agriculture.
South Bunarba Agriculture is a large, family-owned, mixed farm with properties around Mungindi, farming crops consisting of mainly wheat, cotton, chickpeas, faba beans, canola, barley, and sorghum. We have a passion for agriculture and seeing people develop their skillsets and progress their careers within the industry.
The package for this full-time, permanent position includes competitive, well above award wages, a 3-bedroom house with high-speed Wi-Fi, a modern work vehicle, and monthly phone and tool allowances. This position would suit a candidate with previous farming experience interested in broad-acre winter and summer cropping.
This position would suit a candidate with a high level of experience with broadacre crop spraying. This will be a largely autonomous position where you will be responsible for your own spray rig and mixing trailer. You will work with management to effectively and safely apply chemicals using Agworld and John Deere Operations Centre Work Plans. It is expected that you will be able to judge weather conditions and forecasts for safe and effective applications. Understanding of crop protection chemistry and active ingredients is required.
Requirements: enthusiasm for agriculture. Previous broadacre spraying experience. An ability to work in a cohesive team structure. Excellent communication skills. Competent operation of applicable machinery, plants, and equipment. Experience with GPS (preferably John Deere Greenstar). An emphasis on preventative maintenance, with the ability to carry out repairs. A range of skills to carry out general farm R and M. A previous trade or training would be highly regarded. Capable of operating a forklift, welder, oxy, and other workshop tools and equipment. Exhibit high quality work and communicate effectively with others. Reliable, well organized, and self-motivated. Current drivers license. A HR, HC, or MC license would also be of advantage.
