About Us: United Energy Contractors are a newly formed contracting company with a combined 12 years of experience within the metering industry that is now calling all electrical contractors that want to be involved in future smart metering works. Our client is a specialist electrical and telecommunications company that provides an array of professional services to a number of large Australian and New Zealand companies. They call upon the skills and experience of their carefully selected teams on large-scale national electrical and telecommunications projects. They have recently won large projects in the smart metering space across QLD, NSW, ACT, and SA.
The Role: United Energy Contractors is seeking to build on its metering team by engaging with A Grade Electricians on a major, long-term metering contract across QLD. Come and join our expert meter technicians. If you are an electrical contractor, we will train you to a nationally recognised standard for you to perform metering work across Australia with a focus on safety and technical aspects of the role. No metering experience is necessary.
What you’ll do: investigate and rectify meter communications faults. Installation and exchange of electricity meters. Investigation of meter faults. Comply with health and safety procedures to promote a safe work environment. Manage tools, stock, and equipment to standard.

What you need: Pty Ltd company and relevant insurances. A Grade Electrical Contractors License. Valid Driver’s License. Construction Industry Safety Induction Card (White Card). Current LVR and CPR qualification. Current First Aid certificate. Current Working With Children/Vulnerable People Check. Interval Metering Competency (UEENEEG171A/UETTDRIS60A) is preferred. Eligibility to work in Australia. National Police Check (dated within the last 6 months). Asbestos Awareness Certificate. Own tools of trade and a suitable vehicle. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Metering experience on the Intellihub project is preferred but not necessary.
