The Position: The Senior Technical Officer will support (ithe ) management of our seismic fieldwork program, and (ii) the seismic instrumentation pool and associated research facilities at ANU. Our fleet of seismic instrumentation encompasses a wide range of equipment and is available to the community through ANSIR, the Australian National Seismic Imaging Resource. By managing new and ongoing projects to deploy this seismic instrumentation across the Australian continent and surrounding regions, this position will underpin high-level research activity in seismology. Working closely with academic researchers, the Senior Technical Officer will have the opportunity to plan and coordinate such seismic field experiments, ensuring appropriate data management and quality control measures are implemented. As part of the Geophysical Operations team the Senior Technical Officer will work alongside other researchers and technical staff at RSES to maintain and develop our research capabilities in seismology, and may include opportunities to supervise junior technical staff members in the area.
