Our company is based near Griffith, NSW, in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. The region is one of Australia’s most productive food-growing areas, producing everything from rice, cotton, cereals, citrus, grapes, and nuts.

Independent Ag’s ‘home farm’ at Benermbah, NSW, was born and evolved from three generations of the Braithwaite family’s hard work and diligence, starting from our original settler block from the 1940’s. Today, our farming operation is led by Drew Braithwaite and our team of highly skilled farm managers and contracted agricultural professionals. The operation now consists of 1400 ha of irrigated cropping summer and winter crops and permanent plantings.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our irrigated farming operation. The irrigation supervisor will be responsible for managing the irrigation systems and ensuring efficient water use to maintain the health and growth of crops. The role involves the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of various irrigation equipment, as well as coordinating schedules to meet seasonal and weather conditions. This role will work closely with the Farm Manager and other staff to ensure sustainable and optimal crop production

Duties will include, but are not limited to: Operate, monitor, and maintain drip and flood irrigation systems. Develop and implement irrigation schedules based on crop needs, soil moisture levels, weather forecasts, and farm plans. Perform routine checks and maintenance of irrigation equipment. Implement and monitor water-saving techniques, ensuring compliance with water use regulations and farm sustainability goals. Maintain accurate records. Manage staff. Adhere to all WHS requirements.

Qualifications/skills desired: sound mechanical aptitude. Experience in operating agricultural equipment. Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously. Ability to develop and implement plans. This is a diverse business with modern machinery. A package in line with experience is available along with a well-presented, four-bedroom home with all-weather access. A work vehicle, tablet, and phone will also be supplied as part of the package.
