Responsibilities: Administer medications. Ensure infection control. Take vital signs. Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Skin care. Provide personal care. Prepare and serve nutritious meals. Plan physiotherapy programs. Monitor health care programs. Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene. Co-ordinate in-house laundry services. Food safety and handling skills. Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk. Light cleaning duties. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Provide nursing care. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulations. Administer eye drops, ointments and medications as directed by ophthalmologists. Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities. Credentials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses. Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate.
