Imperial Brands Australasia is seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead the execution of its Long-Range Business Plan (LRBP) strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, this role involves close collaboration with the Cluster Leadership Team to ensure successful delivery across all workstreams, managing risks, issues, and dependencies across Sales, GCO, GSC, and other functions. The senior program manager will also oversee the program management process, working with project sponsors and the steering committee (ELT members). We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in the tobacco industry, particularly in sales, consumer marketing, insights, and trade marketing at a strategic level. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a global matrix organisation and have a proven track record in delivering similar projects. PMP certification is preferred, along with expertise in project management methodologies such as Lean, PMBOK, and Agile and the ability to apply them effectively.
Principle Accountabilities: This is a 2-year fixed-term contract position. Oversee project delivery and governance for the LRBP and National Tobacco Strategy, managing all project artwork. Lead and motivate both local and international project teams to drive successful outcomes. Identify and manage project risks, issues, and responses to ensure successful delivery. Maintain clear governance structures, defining roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities in line with organisational standards.
Manage stakeholder engagement at all levels to secure buy-in, endorsement, and effective escalation.
Skills and Experience Required: Degree-qualified in Information Technology, Marketing, Business, or Commerce. Extensive experience managing complex projects in highly regulated environments, including cross-functional and cross-geography teams across multiple time zones. Proven track record of driving business change, assessing evidence, and making decisions that ensure project success.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a history of building and managing relationships with senior business stakeholders. Highly organized with excellent analytical abilities, attention to data quality, and formal, up-to-date Project Management certifications.
