About the role: Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist or Positive Behaviour Support Specialist looking to make a meaningful impact? Disability Workforce Solutions (DWS) is excited to recruit on behalf of Apex Care Services for a skilled occupational therapist with experience in positive Behaviour support or a positive Behaviour specialist to join their team in Southeast Brisbane, main office in Beenleigh, Queensland.

About the Role: We are searching for a compassionate and skilled professional to work closely with individuals, families, and care providers to develop and implement evidence-based, person-centred positive behavioural support plans. This role will allow you to utilize your expertise in behavioural support, develop strong relationships, and see firsthand the difference your work makes in people’s lives.

Providing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions to clients with a range of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs. Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to help clients achieve their goals and maximise their independence. Utilising positive behaviour support strategies to assist clients with complex behavioural needs. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic, coordinated care. Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records. Contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery.

About You: Relevant qualifications in occupational therapy, psychology, or social work. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Demonstrated experience in providing occupational therapy or positive behaviour support services. Strong clinical skills and the ability to think critically to solve complex problems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough behavioural assessments and design tailored support plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated support. Train and empower families, carers, and support staff to implement strategies. Review and evaluate individual progress and adjust strategies as needed.
