Project Overview: The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor-Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program's (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access the PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximize the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimizing risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.
Role Overview: The Content Coordinator will support the PLMSP media, stakeholder engagement and communications activities to facilitate the sustainable expansion of Pacific labour mobility, promote the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme to positively enhance reputation, and act as a critical information sharing link to labour mobility stakeholders in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Working closely with colleagues across the PLMSP the position will coordinate engaging materials for audiences in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste to inform and build understanding, influence perceptions, and enhance worker wellbeing.
As an experienced team member, the Content Coordinator will support the upskilling of staff in content creation and other communication activities as required and train or buddy more junior colleagues, as well as support the onboarding and training of project teams on communications-related company policies and guidelines. This is a fixed-term opportunity required for 4 years with possibility of extension.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Content Coordinator will be responsible for: Implementing the delivery of the facility's communications and marketing strategy in collaboration with the communications team. Developing engaging and accurate communication and marketing content for use in Australia and labour-sending countries—targeted to each stakeholder group—to educate, inform or influence. Identifying good news stories and coordinating content gathering opportunities both in Australia and the Pacific, developing content into communications products. Supporting the Communications team to execute country-specific marketing activities, where needed, including field visits, workshops and media events, and maintaining an understanding of regional contexts. Develop and maintain client and stakeholder relationships across assignments.
Required Qualifications: Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience: A degree in media, journalism, communications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education. Excellent writing and editing skills. Experience in developing content for digital media sources and experience in using digital media and producing organic content to build an audience. Ability to multitask, be well organised and have a high attention to detail. Personal initiative, creativity, and drive.
Design skills and ability to use Adobe CS software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and experience in Premiere Pro software.
