About the role: Reporting to the Operations Shift Leader, this role will see you carry out operating and operations-related maintenance activities as part of a multi-disciplined team onsite at Mt Piper Power Station. This will include operation of plant and equipment as well as routine and defect maintenance, performed as part of a shift that works 24/7, around the clock. You will be a key player in ensuring a strong HSE culture by ensuring that all statutory regulations are adhered to and that all O&M activities employ safe work practices that are consistent with Energy Australia policies and procedures.

About you Successful internal applicants will have the following skills, experience and qualifications: A personal commitment to occupational health and safety. Highly developed troubleshooting and analytical skills. Well-developed communication and teamwork skills. Experience working a shift work roster (ideally).

Whilst specific Power Station Operator training will be provided, the following qualifications and experience would be looked upon favorably: Experience in the control, operation and maintenance of turbo/generator units and associated plants or other large industrial processes. HRWL: Boiler Advanced and Turbine Operation (BA, TO). Industry-related tertiary qualifications to diploma level.

Applicants need to be willing to undergo testing to ensure they are physically capable of performing the duties of the GO1 Operator.
