Role Overview: As a Camp Coordinator/CChef/AAll-rounder, you will play a crucial role in managing the daily camp operations at our newly built accommodation in Katherine, NT. You’ll oversee meal preparation, facility maintenance, and stock control for up to 38 workers and guests, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
Key Responsibilities: Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare three (3) daily meals, adhering to HACCP standards for up to 38 guests, with continental breakfast and a hot dinner daily Monday to Sunday.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in camp facilities and manage kitchen and laundry operations, including waste control and a sustainable garden (both herbs and veggies).
Stock Control: Manage inventory and conduct weekly supply runs, preparing for weather-related disruptions.
Dietary Management: cater to various dietary needs, preventing cross-contamination.
Safety Compliance: Ensure safe manual handling and maintain necessary food safety documentation.
Qualifications & Experience: Right to Work Proof of unrestricted rights to work in Australia (no visa restrictions).
Location: Ideally residing in Katherine or the greater Darwin area with the ability to travel to Camp Katherine, or DIDO/FFIFO from Brisbane or Melbourne only.
Tertiary Qualifications: Chef certification or equivalent (Cert III or higher in food preparation) or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years in FIFO and remote camp coordinator roles, specifically in high-volume catering, including onsite cleaning.
Certifications & Licence: Current First Aid/CPR certificate and a valid Australian driver’s license (manual preferred).
Pre-employment Medical: Must pass a pre-employment medical exam and criminal history check (National Police Certificate or NPC).
Skills Required:
High-Volume Catering: Experience preparing meals for large groups (up to 38 guests currently) in a remote setting, such as mining, rail, or civil projects.
Meal Planning & Budgeting: Ability to create menus, manage budgets, and track food costs effectively.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office Suite and ideally a commercial online booking system.
Time Management: Strong organisational skills for multitasking and prioritising tasks efficiently to ensure all daily checklist items are completed.
Independent Worker: You must be comfortable working alone and communicating updates via virtual meetings and emails daily.
