Engineering Opportunities: Production Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer, Pearl Recruitment Group. Welshpool, Perth WA. Mechanical Engineering (Engineering). Full time. $100,000 - $135,000 + super (pending experience). Our client, who is based in Welshpool, is a US and Australian manufacturer and supplier to the hydraulic drill industry. As a result of ongoing and sustained growth, they are currently seeking both an experienced production engineer and a manufacturing engineer to assist their growing team. Both positions are on a full-time permanent basis.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER: $100k - $125k + Super (pending experience). The Role: This role will see you processing information from Research and Development to actionable instructions for Production, ensuring both the accuracy of drawings and purchasing of materials.

This will include: Create and update production bills of materials (BoM) for assembly

Receive design changes (CN) from RandD and update the production structure in the ERP system

Create and discontinue purchase items in both Excel and the ERP system based on CN

Compile and send necessary documentation (drawings, 3D files) for new and existing purchase items to procurement for quotes.

Coordinate BoM changes with procurement, planning, and assembly teams

Halt non-conforming parts in manufacturing and initiate investigations for rework or rejection

Collaborate with planners and purchasers to determine phase-out dates for parts, considering stock and outstanding orders. Implement updated BoM control for phased-out parts. Assess purchase levels to decide between complete purchases or in-house assembly. Inform production engineers of any part changes to initiate updates for assembly instructions, tools, and fixtures

PRODUCTION ENGINEER: $110k - $135k + Super (pending experience). The Role: This role will see you implementing key improvements to assembly operations to streamline efficiency, routines and other condition improvements.

This will include: Create and update assembly routines, instructions, and checklists with improvements to assembly methods and balance workflow in mind. Enhance testing and inspection methods in assembly. Provide support with appropriate tools and fixtures. Contribute to reducing product costs. Engage in improvement projects focused on safety, quality, and productivity. Report corrective actions to internal stakeholders and relevant forums. Document and sort cases for Production Situation Meetings (PSM). Suggest improvements to reduce RandD design time, product costs, and assembly bottlenecks. Participate in development projects, including prototype and pre-series builds. Lead production development projects. Conduct risk assessments for new or modified working methods. Support or outsource sub-assembly when economically viable. Coordinate test assembly in response to design or supplier changes.

About You: To be successful in either position, you will require the following: Relevant Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related field). At least 2 years + experience as an Engineer within Australian Production / Manufacturing sector (previous experience within surface drilling or similar industry will be highly regarded). Proficiency CAD/CAM software (with production design tool experience such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for production-specific role)

Good interpersonal and report writing skills and proven technical experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
