About the Opportunity: The primary role of an occupational therapist is to provide high-quality assessment and occupational therapy interventions to help consumers manage their health and meet their goals. The level 1–2 therapists work with the senior occupational therapist, forming an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Retention incentive under the NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme, paid on a fortnightly basis.

The attraction incentive for this position equates to an allowance of up to $5,000 in total for the first 12 months of your employment as a successful candidate for this position. A retention incentive of up to $5,000 in total may be offered thereafter annually (dependent on position continuing to meet scheme and policy criteria). Employees are responsible for understanding the criteria for accepting and retaining the incentives paid and are recommended to seek financial advice prior to accepting an attraction or retention payment as part of their employment.

What You’ll Be Doing: Bowral & District Hospital is a major rural hospital that provides a wide range of services, including general medical, obstetrics and gynaecology, pediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, geriatrics, and emergency services. As an occupational therapist in this team, you will provide safe, timely, compassionate, and high-quality person-centred care to patients at Bowral Hospital within the inpatient acute service.

Where You'll Be Working: Bowral Hospital provides a chance to work closely with patients and the community while providing a strong learning environment. The team at Bowral Hospital is supportive and encouraging, with the senior members of the hospital always looking for ways to enrich the experience of the team. As part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, Bowral has close links with a range of Sydney's teaching and referring hospitals, including Liverpool, Fairfield, Bankstown, and Campbelltown hospitals.
