About the Role: The Digital Workplace Platform Manager provides strategic and technical leadership within the Information Services unit, overseeing the planning, development, and governance of the organisation’s Digital Workplace services. This role is crucial in shaping the digital workplace strategy, driving technological innovation, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
The manager is responsible for delivering both on-premises and cloud-based solutions, with a focus on Microsoft 365 platform adoption. They lead initiatives to streamline IT operations, improve efficiency, and foster continuous service improvement. This role manages both internal and external teams, ensuring collaboration to deliver secure and efficient workplace services while optimising costs and performance.
Key services managed include collaboration tools, endpoint management, file storage, data visualisation, email protection, and the entire Microsoft 365 suite (e.g., Teams, Virtual Desktops, and Productivity Apps). The manager ensures that all services are delivered efficiently, with a focus on resource balancing, effective communication, and maintaining high service standards across the portfolio.
Essential duties and responsibilities will include: overseeing the design, deployment, and management of Microsoft 365 and related digital tools. Manage insourced and outsourced teams to deliver secure, cost-effective digital workplace services. Lead continual service improvement initiatives. Ensure all solutions meet security and compliance standards. Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to align technology with business needs.
About You Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in managing Microsoft 365, cloud services, and digital workplace environments. Strong leadership skills with a history of managing both insourced and outsourced teams. Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and experience driving efficient project delivery. Solid knowledge of digital workplace tools like collaboration platforms, endpoint management, and productivity apps. Expertise in security best practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in complex IT environments. Financial management experience includes budgeting, cost optimisation, and vendor management. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Solutions Architect. Experience with ITIL frameworks for continual service improvement. Project management certifications such as PMP or Agile qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
