Our Journey: The Social Work Service at Monash Health assists patients and families with psychosocial support and advocacy through assessment, counselling, information provision, access to community resources, and discharge planning. Social Workers function as members of the multidisciplinary team and have a pivotal role where social complexity exists. The Social Work Service operating hours are standard business hours Monday to Friday. A weekend service is provided by roster at Casey, Clayton, Dandenong and Victorian Heart Hospital sites and an on-call service is also provided to the acute sites.
The Social Work Department is looking for a Grade 3 Social Work Clinical Educator to join our growing team at Monash Health. The Social Work Workforce Clinical Educator will provide orientation, upskilling, and provision of on-the-job support for Social Worker clinicians to support the delivery of safe and effective Monash Health bed-based Social Work services. This will involve collaboration with key stakeholders across Monash Health to identify workforce development learning needs to meet current and future client needs. This includes the development, implementation, and evaluation of education resources to support the Social Work workforce across Monash Health bed-based services.
This is a fixed-term full-time role until 6 October 2025 (maternity leave). You will have the opportunity to join a dynamic social work and multi-disciplinary team where you will have a pivotal role in contributing to a positive team culture. This role will require the candidate to have knowledge and experience of project management methodologies and education principles. The incumbent may be required to work across all campuses of Monash Health as and when required.

About You: As a Grade 3 Social Work Clinical Educator, you will be provided with an opportunity to be challenged and demonstrate your skills, including: Map existing workforce clinical skills and requirements for Monash Health bed-based Social Workers services. Collaborate with the workforce to identify future skill set requirements for Social Workers working in Monash Health bed-based services. Support the team to identify learning needs and work in collaboration with all team members to develop, deliver and evaluate initiatives to meet these needs. Develop, implement, and evaluate professional development and competency-based education to support Social Workers to deliver evidence-based services to Monash Health bed-based clients. You will be a member of a dynamic and supportive Social Work and Allied Health team working in a collaborative model of care across Monash Health. The position works closely with the internal and external stakeholders to provide care founded on current evidence-based practice for patients accessing care through the inpatient and community-based setting. You will have demonstrated experience as a social worker and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What you need: Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Master of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
A current Victorian Driver's license
