Salary: From $106,024 to $117,363 per annum, Data Analyst Grade 7-8 (excluding superannuation and leave loading). You must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to work at the NSW Crime Commission.
About the Commission: The Commission's purpose is to disrupt, reduce and prevent the incidence of organised crime and other serious crime and to pursue confiscation of the proceeds of crime in New South Wales. The Operations Division is responsible for conducting criminal and financial investigations.
The Operations Division is also responsible for the Commission's Strategic Intelligence capability, the provision of specialist investigative support services and providing advice and recommendations to Government in relation to minimising the impact of serious and organised crime on the NSW community.

About the Role: The Data Analyst is focused on supporting the Operation Division through the analysis of data and the development of new analytic techniques. The Data Analyst is also involved in the development and delivery of key products, services and applications. You will be undertaking data analysis to solve challenging problems and providing technical advice and insight to support operational outcomes. You'll be relied upon to provide concise advice and determinations in a dynamic and complex work environment where others may not understand the contexts and assumptions associated with the data analysis product or services developed.
About You: You have a proven track record of analysing data to produce insights that drive operational and strategic decision-making. You can demonstrate highly developed analytical skills and are capable of interpreting complex datasets and generating actionable insights. You exhibit proficiency in SQL Server and a strong command of Python programming to develop and optimize data-driven solutions. You have hands-on experience with dashboarding and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, creating insightful and interactive reports that support data-informed decisions.
Security Vetting: The recommended candidates must have a checkable background covering at least the last 10 years and be willing to participate in and secure appropriate security clearances by providing comprehensive details about their personal and financial interests and other relevant information about themselves, their families and their associates. You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the information relating to the Commission's security vetting processes contained in this guidance document.
The Crime Commission Regulation 2022 under the Crime Commission Act 2012 stipulates that it is a condition of employment at the Commission that a member of staff obtain and maintain: a security clearance issued by the Commissioner and a security clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency that the Commissioner determines is necessary for the position
