Junior Investment Analyst, B and K Consulting. Sydney NSW. Funds Management (Banking & Financial Services). Full time. Up to $110000 p.a.

Our client is a growing fund manager in the alternative investments space. This newly created junior analyst role will report into the Head of Portfolio Management and will focus primarily on analyzing corporate carbon alignment in listed companies. It is not a traditional investment analyst role looking into the financials of a company or making investment recommendations and is instead focused on company carbon alignment.

Job Tasks: Conducting research on specific companies to assess their net zero alignment.

Maintaining a database of climate-related company research that can be used in the investment team's top-down analysis of the investible universe. Participating in industry working groups related to climate-focused investing and assisting with fund obligations under these groups. This includes participating in pooled engagement processes on specific companies with other climate-focused investors.

Assisting with equity security selection process, which is a data-driven process focusing on SRI exclusions, carbon footprint screening and net zero alignment assessment.

Assisting with the fund's overall net zero investment framework. Assisting with client reporting, particularly with climate-related reporting such as portfolio-financed emissions and net zero alignment. General support as required to any other areas of the business if it is deemed a priority by management.

Skills & Experience Required: Understanding of the global decarbonization movement and how industries are working towards decarbonizing their activities. Science, climate or sustainability experience (academic or practical). A keen interest in climate-related company research. Relevant experience with information management and ability to manage large datasets. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to take initiative over tasks and work in a self-directed manner.

Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to change in a fast-moving environment. This will be very interesting role where you will get to use your analytical mindset and carbon know-how within an investment fund.
