Responsibilities: Attend educational conferences and workshops. Counsel students regarding educational, career or vocational issues. Counsel students regarding personal and social issues. Co-ordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents and teachers. Refer students to other specialized services when required. Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents and educational institutions
Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops and symposia. Plan and control budgets and expenditures. Delegate work to office support staff. Carry out administrative activities of establishment. Administer policies and procedures related to the release of records in processing requests under government access to information and privacy legislation. Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures. Resolve conflict situations. Perform data entry. Review and evaluate new administrative procedures. Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met. Co-ordinate and plan for office services such as accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services. Assist in the preparation of operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls. Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence.
