A job to be proud of: St John, WA, have an existing opportunity for an Operational & Safety Performance Officer to join our Clinical and Operational Excellence department on a full-time basis. You’ll be part of a highly skilled, committed and collaborative team that together provides crucial and highly valued services to the rest of the organisation.
This position supports the identification, coordination and delivery of quality, compliance and performance in operational governance and risk across the Emergency Stream. The main purpose is to investigate, research and support the development of operational and safety initiatives and project delivery within both time and budget constraints
What you’ll do: Develops, implements and reviews operational policies, procedures and workflows to ensure that the Emergency Stream meets the required statutory requirements, operationally, legislatively and in line with WorkSafe requirements. Lead responsive approach to controlling risks within key policies and SOPs with an understanding of manual handling, situational awareness and what is reasonably practicable to protect our operational teams from harm.
Internal and external stakeholder engagement is needed to support implementation and review of operational procedures and initiatives. Review and monitor workplace incidents and injuries to identify trends and emerging risks to enable risk mitigation across the Emergency Stream. Support relevant training and awareness-raising programs for Emergency Stream staff and lead in the promotion of a culture that prioritises employee safety and wellness.
Provide advice and guidance on safety, health and risk management issues relevant to Emergency Stream Operations. Provide support to the Manager, Operational Performance, in ensuring both objectives and KPI’s are met within both time and budget constraints. Where safety and operational concerns emerge within the Emergency Stream, this position will be required to provide representation, support and implementation of solutions to the emerging risk.
In conjunction with the Safety Department, ensure an adequate number of HSR, First Aid Officers and Fire Wardens, including relevant training requirements, are met.
What you’ll need: are exceptional problem-solving skills and organisational skills. Experience in the delivery of safety initiatives and development of work processes, including risk assessments. High attention to detail. The ability to manage competing priorities. Experience in risk management, process development and implementation of projects. Understanding, knowledge and experience in the operational environment. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to forge collaboration. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience in providing consultancy and leadership support to managers and staff in relation to Occupational Safety and Health, Workers Compensation, Injury and Risk Management.
Demonstrated experience in administrative and operational environment. Relevant qualification in Management are desirable. Relevant qualification in Occupational Safety & Health are desirable.
