Retail Sales Assistant, Sleep Health Clinician, CPAP Direct. Mackay, Mackay & Coalfields QLD. Retail Assistants (Retail & Consumer Products). Full time. Add expected salary to your profile for insights.
About us: CPAP Direct is a retail and clinical leader in the sleep apnea industry across Australia. We have 20 retail stores and a large e-commerce business and are the ‘go-to’ destination for people to research, be diagnosed, and be treated successfully for sleep-related conditions. We have an exciting split-role opportunity for a motivated and experienced retail sales assistant and sleep health clinician to join our Mackay store. Come and be part of a dynamic and friendly workplace that delivers customer and patient satisfaction!
What you will be doing: Full and comprehensive training is provided!
While existing expertise is an advantage, it is not essential for the role. If you have a great attitude and personality with strong experience in client-focused retail, customer service, and sales, we will teach you what you need to know about the sleep and CPAP therapy industries. Using your strong interpersonal and sales skills, you get a buzz out of enhancing the lives of your customers and making them feel alive again. You easily connect and communicate with people in a natural way. You’re a powerful listener, curious about people, and have a ‘can do’ approach to finding solutions to people’s needs.
You’ll feel right at home if a positive, supportive environment is where you’re able to do your best work. We believe it’s a crucial element to provide a five-star service to our customers at every interaction, via phone, email and in person.
Home sleep test setups: Assisting customers with CPAP purchases (machines, masks, accessories, etc.). Troubleshooting for issues with their CPAP equipment. Building rapport and effective relationships with customers. Patient education and advice on sleep health. POS use. Basic reporting, general administration and cleaning duties as required. Customer service and after-sales service. Professional relationship building within the sleep health industry.
Here are a few things we think will make you ideal for this role: Whilst Pharmacy, CPAP, Optometry, Audiology and other healthcare retail experiences are preferred, it is not necessary! Attitude is more important—we are happy and willing to train the right person. You have previous experience in a busy, multi-tasking retail or customer service role. You'll have a strong customer service focus, with empathy, compassion and a drive to deliver the best patient-centric outcomes. Thrive under pressure and work well independently and as part of a team. We have strong communication skills and the capacity to respond quickly to the needs of our customers. Be a quick learner, with initiative and tenacity. Enthusiasm, positivity and the genuine work ethic to ‘get things done’
Proven integrity, professionalism and discretion—you'll be comfortable with sensitive information and will do the right thing, even when no-one’s watching. We genuinely value diversity—of perspectives, approaches and lived experiences. We also know that not everyone’s super confident when they apply for roles. So if you’re feeling unsure about any of the above or just want to have a conversation,
Some of the benefits of joining CPAP Direct. Above-awarded salary. A genuine commitment to workplace culture and well-being. Work with great, smart people. Access to some of the best business minds in the industry. Work with a company that is on an exciting growth trajectory.
Here are 3 reasons why we hope you’ll love working for us: Find a culture of kindness and respect. We really care about our work and our people. We don’t just provide our patients with friendly and compassionate care; you will feel it too. Do work that matters and feel valued for your contribution. We provide a patient-focused service. We ‘see’ them when they walk in the door. The experience for them is personal and as such, you will enjoy meaningful interactions.
Enjoy varied work and grow as you go. You’ll jump in and out of many different tasks and challenges, and our whole team will support you to achieve whatever comes your way.
And here are 3 reasons why we’re afraid you might not: We rarely work ridiculous hours, but we do work really hard every day, and we rarely sit still. CPAP Direct’s really good at trust and integrity. We’re not so good at micromanagement. If you find it hard to work without pressure or ongoing direction, we’re definitely not the best choice for you. We value change; we are growing, and we understand change is part of growth. If you think we could be a good fit for each other, we’d love to hear from you!
Really want to work with us?
We do get a lot of applications, but plenty of them are pretty generic. So if you're keen, a personalised cover letter really will help you stand out. We will definitely read it! Not sure what to share? How about the value that's most important to you, and three reasons why you think we'd be great together?
