About the job: At SA Water, we are committed to delivering efficient and safe planned and unplanned maintenance, capital projects, and non-regulated programs to ensure the availability, performance, cost, and risk targets for our smart and reliable water services are met. As an Electrical Trade Technician, you'll be a crucial part of our mission to provide sustainable and healthy water solutions to the people of South Australia. This ongoing opportunity has become available due to an internal promotion. 

About you: You will have demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in the electrical trade, enabling you to effectively manage the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of infrastructure within water and wastewater systems. The goal is to elevate the performance, reliability, and availability of our assets. Additionally, we seek a team-oriented individual with a positive outlook who actively contributes to our strong safety culture. While experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) would be desirable, we are open to considering candidates with a background in industrial or commercial settings.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: Your commitment to workplace safety and constructive behaviours will ensure a safe environment for yourself and your colleagues. Actively participate in corporate WHS initiatives and help build a culture of maintenance excellence. Infrastructure is safely maintained to deliver quality drinking water in accordance with SA Water and Australian Standards. Provide technical expertise and support for trade-related maintenance activities. Execute asset maintenance regimes according to plans and schedules to optimise uptime and reliability of infrastructure assets.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including People & Safety, Works Management, Capital Delivery, and asset maintenance, to ensure the success of our water service initiatives. Participation in an on-call roster will be required. Overtime may be necessary to meet the requirements of the role.

Your success in this role will come from: Relevant Trade Certificate and Licence—Electrical only. Ability to work under limited supervision and in a team environment. Trust and respect are core values in the team environment. Understanding of work health and safety and the ability to manage safety and risk. Ability to analyse technical operational problems and recommend appropriate solutions while working under limited supervision.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Competent with compute and software applications, Experience running and/or managing small projects is desirable.
