This role would suit an eager and enthusiastic, commercially minded, dualist researcher (qualitatively skewed) who is looking to make a difference. The work is diverse—pure consulting, high-end quality, advanced quantitative, integrated marketing problem solving—linked only by a common objective to achieve tangible, commercial outcomes. This role requires the skill set and expertise to proficiently manage qualitative and quantitative projects end-to-end while drawing on additional expertise and resources from within the business where necessary. The role requires a skilled moderator with a strategic mindset and an understanding of how to develop actionable insights that provide clients with business solutions and opportunities.
This role would include developing and owning client relationships that thrive and endure. Working with those clients to define their key business challenges and shape qualitative and quantitative studies that will answer those challenges. Immersing yourself in the client’s business to establish a credible base of knowledge from which to build.
Conducting, delivering, and helping to deploy qualitative and quantitative research that is sharp, smart, inventive, pragmatic, and commercial. Demonstrating a passion for on-going and self-directed learning to develop your own skills and mentoring and helping develop the skills of junior colleagues. Sharing in the development, culture, and ways of working. Deliver projects that provide value for clients and lead to profitable growth. Manage team member’s project contributions. Coach directs reports on their development. Lead small knowledge-capture projects.
Strong client relationships: understand client business, context, and potential to support growth. Relationship owner for 1-2 client individuals. Seeks to grow revenue contributions to the team. Participate in client planning and deliver against your own goals. Adviser to project stakeholders.
Deep research expertise: Skilled and experienced quantitative researcher. Competent in applying a wide range of techniques to create tailored approaches. Able to develop extensive discussion guides and stimulus across a range of issues. Skilled and experienced moderator. Responsible for a substantial part of the fieldwork. Demonstrates expertise in analysis software packages such as SPSS, Excel, and Q. Expert in at least one research technique. Able to manage more complex projects (e.g., multi-market studies). Design quality, an efficient methodology approach, and resourcing with input from seniors and specialists as needed.
Lead 1-2 project teams (initially with senior guidance)—define roles, approve research specs, manage timelines, ensure team efficiency, and ensure quality delivered within budget. Manage internal stakeholder and client expectations. Ensure the team completes & shares quality analysis. Synthesize key findings with the team.
Insights that drive business: Build a team's understanding of business issues and context for the client. Take the client brief and develop proposal with senior input. Lead team in analysis and develop commercial solutions with the team based on quality research insights.
Clear, engaging communication: Demonstrates expertise in analysis software packages such as SPSS, Excel and Q. Role models excellent interpersonal skills and creates a healthy, productive team environment. Lead client communications on expectations, approach, project progress, and observations. Craft a compelling story line and deliver with clarity and confidence. Share facilitation of client workshops with senior support.
