We have opportunities for casual employment at Tarrengower Prison currently available. Tarrengower focuses on preparing women for a return to the community at the end of their sentences. This is achieved through tailored programs supporting education and employment opportunities post-release.

About the role: Prison officers are essential to the operation of the prison and play a key part in the success of our rehabilitation programs.? Your work will be dynamic, and every day will be different.
You will: Be a positive influence on prisoners. Support prisoner rehabilitation through case management. Protect the safety and security of staff and prisoners.
About you: If you’re a good communicator and enjoy achieving positive outcomes, then you have the qualities needed to become a prison officer. Eligibility: You need to be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold Australian permanent residency. You must hold an Australian driver's licence (minimum P2). If you're keen on a move to metro or country Victoria and are offered an ongoing role, you may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $10,000 to help with costs like travel, freight, temporary housing and storage. Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial), increasing your hourly rate post-completion. Relocation assistance of up to $10,000 for a move to regional Victoria. $5,000 sign-on bonus.
New prison officers are now eligible for a bonus of up to $5,000. The incentive is designed to attract the best new prison officers and encourage you to explore all aspects of the role. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $2,500. Then, after one year’s full-time employment, you will receive an additional payment of $2,500. Conditions apply.
