Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Care, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical advice, guidance, education and support to our partners across Australia. You will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained and fostering a collaborative environment among the care team.
Key Responsibilities: Undertake desktop and on-site audits of clinical processes and procedures, including the monitoring of continuous improvement actions. Support the organisation during external audits, including assistance with corrective actions, assistance during the assessment process, and follow-up actions. Deliver ongoing education to clinical and care staff. Ensuring systems and practices align to legislative, regulatory, and best practice
Lead on all aspects of clinical quality, ensuring appropriate standards and operating procedures are defined, communicated, maintained and managed as part of the Governance Framework. Implement an ongoing review of compliance against the PHC’s Governance Framework. Ensure that all clinical staff across PHC are aware of the quality standards and their responsibility to ensure that they are implemented across all areas of their practice. Act as the focal point in respect of the way in which clinical standards apply to all PHC services. Proactively drive clinical assurance and governance across PHC.
Ensure the quality of clinical record-keeping within our services. Develop and implement all standard operating procedures related to the clinical delivery of PHC’s products and services. Search for best practice guidance/evidence to inform the development of internal quality indicators. Support the Head of Care on internal and external clinical regulatory and quality-related tasks, such as quality reporting to the senior management team, clients and regulatory bodies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration and practicing certificate. A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in aged care or home care setting. Advanced clinical skills and expertise in managing complex health conditions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and business partners. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies. A Certificate IV in Workplace Training is highly desirable.
