Senior Operations Manager, Department of Energy & Public Works. Cannon Hill, Brisbane, QLD. Management (Construction). Government - State (Government & Defense). Full time. $127,842 to $136,895 per annum. QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.  It has been the Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations, and correctional and health facilities.

About the role: This role will be pivotal to coordinating a team responsible for the maintenance of multiple assets to an agreed functional level of operational capability and level of service under a Facilities Maintenance Agreement. You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing strategic oversight and expert management of critical projects.

Duties and skills involved: ensuring the effective operational delivery of client projects and programs by managing resource productivity, monitoring performance, and initiating remedial action as necessary. Maintaining strong client relationships and serving as the primary interface with clients.

Preparing and managing maintenance, minor works, and construction program budgets aligned with the Queensland Government's Capital Works Framework (CWF). Achieving operational objectives through strategic resource planning and effective management within the building construction and maintenance industry or similar sectors in the public sector. Interpreting financial data to evaluate regional status and implementing corrective actions to ensure commercial viability.

Preferred skills and experience: Demonstrated experience in compiling and project managing complex estimating projects in a building construction and maintenance environment. Thorough working knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices, and contract procedures.
