An exciting opportunity has become available for a resourceful and proactive Accounts Officer to join our dynamic Finance team and service our clients and teams nationally.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team supporting financial operations nationwide. With a range of responsibilities across bank reconciliations, report generation and the proactive management of accounts payable and receivable processes, you will collaborate closely with legal practitioners, staff, and clients to ensure accurate and timely bill payments. You will be contributing directly to our business objectives and helping us continue growing and succeeding into the future. Key Responsibilities: Bank account and general ledger reconciliations. Accounts payable and receivable, including debtor management. Verify source funds for PEXA workspaces. Create and provide EFT payments. Generate and review client invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines. Contribute to and, on occasion, oversee various aspects of the financial cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger. Assist with preparation of monthly management reports, financial statements, and cashflow forecasts. Assist with development and communication of the budgeting process and monitoring adherence to budgets. Where necessary, liaise with third-party providers, e.g. external auditors, during the annual audit process. Assist in maintaining compliance with the relevant legislation and statutory reporting requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the department. Assist with other financial tasks as required.
What you need to succeed: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a law firm or legal environment. Strong understanding of legal accounting principles and regulations. Understanding of trust accounting (Ideally). Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong work ethic. Sound Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
