Building custodian (Janitor)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Weekend, Day, Evening
Salary: $15.50 hourly for 35 hours per week, Bonus
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon Territory (2 vacancies)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Apartment/condominium complex, Office building, School, Commercial building, Health care facility, Shopping centre
Specific Maintenance Activities: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax floors, Empty waste containers, Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures, Work with minimal supervision
Office/Administration activities: Supervise other workers, Perform safety and security checks
Equipment Operated/Used: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, Carpet cleaning machines, Polishing machines, Waxing machines, Steam cleaners, Power tools, Security systems, Upholstery cleaning equipment
Security and Safety: Criminal record check
Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, valid driver's license
Work Location Information: Urban area, various locations
Other Languages: Vietnamese
