The opportunity: Randstad's procurement & contracts specialist, Hayley Wilson, is seeking an experienced contract officer for a well-known local government in Western Australia, where you will oversee contract management for the procurement contracts.

The key responsibilities of all the roles will include: offering strategic guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding every facet of procurement strategy and execution. Ability to oversee the development of contract formation, requests for tenders, contract extensions, and variations. Maintaining a high standard of contract management. Leading critical tender negotiations, analysing quotes and tenders for evaluations. Undertakes key strategic projects in line with procurement and contract management priorities. Proven experience in strategic advice and direction regarding systems, reports, policies, legislation, and procedures. Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of existing business activities and new proposals from identified external agencies.

Providing a high level of stakeholder engagement with internal customers and demonstrating superior relationship management and influencing skills with external parties. Recognize and oversee commercial, contractual, operational, financial, ethical, and supply chain risks as necessary. Positive management of relationships between local government and its suppliers.

Successful applicants will require: Extensive experience in contract tendering, awarding contracts, contract management stakeholder engagement, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution. Experience leading procurement processes through effective management and / or facilitation to achieve desired outcomes at lowest overall cost and best value for money. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to stakeholders,. Tertiary qualifications are desirable.
