AHP1.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing a range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, including Bone Mineral Density, quality control, preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and therapy administration using radionuclides as requested by Nuclear Medicine Physician while working under close professional direction and supervision.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications: Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification in Medical radiation, which entitles registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (from July 2012). Prior to July 2012, eligibility for accreditation by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine. I am licensed to practice under the Radiation Protection and Control Act 1982. Current Registration with Medical Radiation Practitioners Board Australia (MRPBA) of the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

AHP2

The Professional Clinician contributes to the development of advanced techniques and methodology by undertaking more complex Nuclear Medicine procedures using specialised equipment to perform a range of clinical diagnostic medical imaging examinations and by participating in research programs and quality assurance programs. The Professional Clinician provides professional direction to Nuclear Medicine and junior Technologists, undergraduate students and work experience students.

Educational and vocational qualifications: A degree in Medical Radiation (Nuclear Medicine) or its recognised equivalent. Statement of Registration from Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Licensed under Radiation Protection and Control Act SA (1982). Postgraduate qualifications in specialised areas of imaging. current undertaking of a continuous professional development education program to suit requirements of AHPRA registration.
