The Role: We are seeking three enthusiastic and energetic people to undertake duties as casual Learn to Swim Instructors for our swimming centre at Richmond during the 2024–2025 pool season. Commit to working for Council over summer and Council will cover the cost for your Austwim accreditation and also support the required supervised practical teaching component of your qualification (20 hours unpaid). These positions are casual; candidates will be required to work either day or afternoon shifts in order to support our school swimming program and after-school lessons. The swimming program will begin in early October 2024 and shifts will be rostered within the below times:

9:00 a.m.–3:00 3:00pm Monday – Friday or 3:00–7:00pm Monday – Friday. In addition, there may be a Saturday morning shift available from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Criteria for the role. Current Austswim Accreditation or equivalent (or willing to obtain with support of Council). Current CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain one). Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain). Experience working with Children. Minimum 17 years old as of October 1, 2024. Desirable. Bronze Coaching Accreditation & Current A.S.C.T.A membership. First Aid Certificate. Previous experience as pool lifeguard / learn-to-swim instructor. Duke of Edinburgh Participation in the award scheme and/ or completion of Bronze Award highly regarded.
