Sessional Teacher, National Gallery of Victoria. Melbourne VIC. Teaching: vocational (education & training). Government-SState (Government & Defense). Full time. VPS 3.1: $46.55 per hour + 11.5% superannuation. Closing date for applications:  July 5, 2024. The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a sessional teacher to facilitate high-quality learning experiences that engage diverse audiences and foster connections between visitors and the NGV Collection and exhibitions.

ABOUT THE POSITION: You will be using innovative teaching and engagement strategies and tools, including digital platforms, to facilitate socially rewarding learning experiences relevant to the different interests, needs and backgrounds of visitors.

Other key responsibilities include: Facilitating programs in a variety of contexts (onsite, online and outreach) for a range of audiences, including school and higher education students of different subjects and levels; families, adult learners, including teachers, corporate and community groups; and EAL and special needs groups. Contributing to the development of learning resources and programs for learners of different interests, needs and backgrounds. Contributing to improvements in service delivery through ongoing evaluation of programs. To be successful, you will have demonstrated skill and experience in facilitating engaging learning experiences in an educational setting or cultural organisation, including proficiency in using digital learning tools and platforms.

You have successfully attained an appropriate teaching qualification and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, coupled with a demonstrated understanding of key Victorian curriculum frameworks. You have the ability to adapt teaching and facilitation methods to learners of different needs, interests and experiences, including early learners and families, school and higher education students, adults, learners with special needs, and EAL learners.

You can quickly establish a natural rapport with a range of people, use spoken and written language to convey and obtain information, insights and ideas, and be able to provide information to a group of people in formal and informal settings. For more details, refer to the role statement attached.
