Senior Policy Analyst, National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. Parramatta, Sydney, NSW. Policy, Planning, & Regulation (Government & Defense). Full time.
As the Senior Policy Analyst, you will contribute to or lead the development, delivery, monitoring and review of projects, policies and advice to advance the NHVR’s legislative and strategic objectives, particularly in relation to safety and productivity.
Some key initiatives the team has delivered or will be involved with include: A number of projects are on the go at any one point in time and require high-level problem-solving skills, creativity, perseverance, as well as solid planning, time management and prioritisation skills. This is a temporary full-time position that offers exposure to high-profile projects and networking opportunities with industry and government stakeholders nationally, from officer through the CEO level. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required from time to time.

About you: Ideally, you will demonstrate your data analysis and policy skills and practical experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone with Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong policy and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, research and evidence to identify insights and trends. Strong project coordination and organisational skills, taking end-to-end responsibility, and managing expectations and deliverables. Ability to build rapport and develop strong and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work autonomously and with multidisciplinary teams. Enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. Capable of working in fast-paced environments and meeting strict deadlines. Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. economics, transport/infrastructure planning, public policy) or demonstrated equivalent experience is required.
