Top End Towing & Transport are seeking an experienced HC operator with a high focus on safety and customer service to join our small, dedicated team. Specializing in the transport of machinery, mobile plant, equipment and vehicles, utilising a combination of tilt tray trucks, drop deck trailers and low loaders, we provide transport solutions right across the Top End.
To be considered for the role, you must be able to clearly demonstrate and communicate your experience and skills in the following areas: Live within the Darwin area or surrounds. Hold a minimum HC license (MC is desirable). Forklift Licence. EWP license (or at least willing to obtain). Previous tilt tray experience is highly desirable; however, training will be provided to the successful applicant. Experience operating civil plant and machinery is desirable. Experience in transporting oversize loads and compliance are desirable. Must possess a positive and professional attitude. Strong customer service skills. Possesses proficient skills in utilising a smart phone. Ability to read, understand and comply with safe work practices and instructions, including (but not limited to) completion of site inductions.
Be fit and healthy (and willing to submit to drug and alcohol testing). Attention to detail and being able to follow processes and procedures. Contribute proactive solutions and take actionable steps to address potential challenges within the work environment. Load Restraint Knowledge and experience in securing loads are highly desirable; training will be provided. Knowledge of Darwin and greater region. Be flexible with rosters and possible call-out work during nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities include: completing and adhering to site-specific and company-specific safety procedures and requirements. Conduct vehicle pre-start inspections. Carry out transport of required equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor and report on load restraint and towing equipment condition. Maintain vehicles with basic maintenance and good housekeeping. Load and secure equipment in accordance with company policy and comply with the load restraint guide. Deliver exceptional customer service at all times. Communicate and update dispatch as required. Able to navigate to pick-up and delivery locations within the Darwin area. Able to communicate in a polite and friendly manner, clearly and effectively to other team members, customers and the wider community.

The position is on a casual basis, with hours as required, working both locally and rurally, with some away work.
