We are leveraging the massive success of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, hosted by Australia and New Zealand, while the game in Queensland is embarking on an important journey to reach 50/50 gender parity by 2027. Football in Queensland has recently completed an important reform journey for the game, which will see football taken to the next level.

Primary Purpose of Role: the Senior Officer—Women and Girls role is unique and exciting opportunity to increase participation in Queensland and be part of a legacy that will be engrained in our footballing culture long after the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Specifically, this role will promote, coordinate, administer and facilitate the delivery of programs and services within Queensland, with a particular focus on the recruitment and retention of women and girls.
The position will support the broader Game Development team with key operational responsibilities while also leading specific initiatives that will more broadly contribute to our common goal and Football Queensland’s key objective of 50/50 Gender Parity by 2027 and ensuring that football is the game of choice for all for life.
The role will work with a broader Football Queensland team, regions and clubs to create an environment that fosters and maximises participation in football across QLD. The role will develop, facilitate and implement participation programs and products within QLD, with a strong focus on recruitment, transition and retention of women and girls.
The 2023-2026 Football Queensland (FQ) One Football Strategic Plan “Anytime, Anywhere” identifies the following key strategic pillars and focuses that the Senior Officer, Game Development Administration, will assist in delivering outcomes for:
Participant & Clubs. Support clubs & volunteers as football’s frontline. 50/50 equal gender participation. 128, 000 club participants. 200,000 social participants. Improving the football product and experience. Develop a deep understanding of our customers, and improve and communicate our value proposition accordingly.
Fans Drive annual increases of fan attendance and engagement at FQ events and National team games. Transition participants to fans and deliver a well-rounded fan experience for our participants. Deliver end-of-year family carnivals and celebrations of football across QLD. Unifying Football Work with all stakeholders of the game to ensure a consistent One Football approach. Create value to our members by developing new products and events to suit the evolving needs of society today.
Key Areas of Responsibility The Senior Office for Women and Girls will be required to: Coordinate and deliver Women and girls-specific programs (e.g. Girls United, Girls United Schools Programs, Holiday Clinics, Youth Leadership Programs, Soccer Moms). Develop and implement a clear transition plan for participants to transition from social programs into local clubs or club-based programs. Identify participation growth areas, both demographically and geographically. Define clear Women and Girls’ targets for all regions in QLD and lead each region to achieve their KPI’s. Support and develop strong relationships between schools, clubs and community. Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including FA, FQ Regional staff and Clubs. Plan and implement Women and Girls events, including but not limited to Gala Days, Carnivals, Holiday Clinics, Campaign event, upskilling opportunities, etc.
Oversee the planning and delivery of Female Football Week. Implement 50/50 Gender Equity plans. Work closely with FQ/FA participation team to deliver on participation initiatives relevant to women and girls, including but not limited to: CALD, Indigenous, Inclusion, Walking Football, MiniRoos and Sporting Schools. Delivery of quality customer service experiences. Delivery of general duties as deemed reasonably necessary by Football Queensland. Always adhere to Football Queensland policies, procedures, and OH&S guidelines. Always adhere to Football Queensland’s safeguarding children’s policy.
Experience and Skills To be the right fit for this role, you will: Hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card). Hold a current First Aid certificate or be willing to attain one. Hold a current driver’s license and have reliable transport. Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Have experience in the development and implementation of participation programs and products. Be able to work independently and as part of a team. Be able to demonstrate a collaborative and inclusive approach to problem solving. Have effective oral and written communication skills. Be enthusiastic with a high-level of self-motivation. Be consistently proactive, taking initiative whenever possible. Have attained or are willing to attain a Skills Training Certificate (preferably C license or willingness to attain one).
The following skills and qualifications are desirable: Experience within the game of football (e.g., player, referee, coach, administrator). Bachelors/Diploma qualification.
