Technical Service Representative
In Locomotive Technical Services, you will provide highly technical in-house 24 x 7 phone support & trouble shooting to our railway customer’s on ZTR locomotive equipment (PLC based solutions).
Follow daily technical tasks including handling incoming phone calls, assisting Engineering, improving processes and product, etc. Significant travel is required (10% to 50%) to customer sites for on-site commissioning and/or installation of ZTR’s equipment.
Description
Experience in rail industry and systems integration preferred, although automation industry experience a definite asset.
Knowledge of physical, electrical and environmental design standards for locomotive applications
Ability to communicate with multiple levels of customers and employees in various organizations
Must be customer service oriented
Solid communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work directly with customers
Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
Ability to work autonomously at customer sites and manage project scope & cost
Comfortable working on a locomotive
Must have exceptional organizational skills for required administration (trip reports, time entry, customer issue tracking database, etc)
Education/Experience:
1-2 years related experience
MUST HAVE minimum two year diploma in Engineering Technology, Technician, or Technologist as per NAFTA requirements for cross-border travel in order to qualify
PLC and/or Locomotive background is an asset
