About the role: Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and part of Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Green Endeavour is responsible for overseeing the company's financial strategy, operations, and performance. This includes developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with company goals, managing financial forecasting, budgets, and reporting, and preparing accurate financial statements and reports. The CFO leads the finance and accounting team, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, and identifying and managing business risks and insurance needs. Additionally, the CFO manages the company's capital structure and funding strategies, ensures compliance with financial regulations and standards, and participates in executive management decisions to develop financial and tax strategies.

In this role, the CFO fosters a high-performance culture within the finance team by mentoring and developing team members, managing work allocation, and conducting performance evaluations. The CFO is also responsible for aligning financial systems with business goals, maintaining and updating information systems and infrastructure, and overseeing IT and project departments. They play a key role in strategic business planning, risk mitigation, and performance management, ensuring the company’s growth and profitability objectives are met. The CFO is expected to uphold Green Endeavour's values of camaraderie, accountability, sustainability, innovation, pride, and trust while contributing positively to the company’s culture and mission to deliver sustainable fresh produce supply solutions.

Specifically, key accountabilities include: developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with company goals, providing commercial strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team;. Develop and manage financial forecasting, budgets, and reporting, aiming to improve efficiency and accuracy. Lead and oversee the finance and accounting team, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, analysing profitability, trends, and budget compliance. Identify and manage business risks and insurance needs, ensuring effective internal controls. Manage capital structure and funding strategies, oversee transaction processing systems and conduct acquisition due diligence.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors. Participate in executive management decisions and implement strategic business plans aligned with the company's objectives. Manage all IT-related initiatives, including third-party software and technical support suppliers, align financial systems with business goals and maintain and update information systems and infrastructure.

The Executive: To be considered for the position, you will be a strong people leader who demonstrates extensive experience and record of achievements in a senior finance management role across the FMCG, Manufacturing or related sectors. You will bring demonstrated experience in financial planning for a corporation, including reporting and controls, and the ability to organise and control major accounting systems. You will need to demonstrate proven leadership capabilities in advising Senior Executives on business performance and strategic financial opportunities, showcasing your ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly and persuasively.

In terms of qualifications, you will need to hold a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or commerce, along with certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). A post-graduate qualification such as an MBA or Masters in a relevant discipline is preferred. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should possess attributes that align with Green Endeavour's values, including promoting diversity and innovation, fostering strong team dynamics, and demonstrating forward-thinking strategic leadership.
