About the Opportunity: The health services at Clarence have 3 modern health centres that deliver appropriate standards of health care to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
You will provide primary care based on a patient-centred model, allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team works closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that: provide primary, acute, and emergency care based on a patient-centred model, allowing custodial patients to actively participate in their health management. Deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that treat and prevent communicable disease and proactively treat chronic disease. What you’ll be doing: Gather information that contributes to the prisoner assessment process. Administer medications by approved routes, in accordance with legislative requirements, under the direct and indirect supervision of a registered nurse. Undertake dressings, blood glucose level monitoring, and other clinical interventions in line with the scope of practice. Liaise with the registered nurse(s) on duty in relation to patient treatment. About you: your ideal skills & experience. Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum of 1-year full-time postgraduate experience (or part-time equivalent). Experience in primary health, rural health, or emergency nursing is desirable.
