Indigo Junction is a not-for profit registered community housing organisation providing homelessness support, family and domestic violence services and immediate aid to vulnerable young people, women, and families, in the north-eastern suburbs of Perth. Operating in the Midland area since 1979, the organisation has developed strong community connections, particularly within the Aboriginal community, and has a sound reputation for quality service delivery.

The Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in Indigo Junction’s strategic direction and financial performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and management for the organisation. The CFO will provide strategic guidance to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring sound financial decision-making that aligns with company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement financial strategies and policies. Ensure financial operations and management platform is ready for growth and capable of efficiently servicing business objectives. Optimise the performance, output, and culture of a small finance team. Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team & operational managers. Optimise the working capital position of the organisation and monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and identify areas for improvement or optimisation. Collaborate with program and services teams to evaluate performance metrics, streamline processes, and drive cost efficiencies.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure alignment with the strategic plan and operational objectives. Lead financial reporting activities, including the preparation of financial statements, regular management reports and reports for Board, Members, and external stakeholders. Manage relationships with external partners, including financial institutions, ATO, auditors, and other regulatory authorities. Provide leadership in the management of risk across the organisation. Manage the implementation of required systems and processes to expand the organisation’s financial capability, especially in relation to capital works programs. Stay abreast of Government trends, sector conditions, and regulatory changes to inform financial decision-making and mitigate risks. Development and management of various IT systems including financial control, asset management, documentation management and information management.

Experience: Relevant tertiary finance qualifications. CA / CPA qualification also key. 5-8 years of previous CFO experience. Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively. Experience working with board and executive teams. Exposure or experience within a NFP environment is an advantage.
